ARIA has been a core holding of mine since late 2008. fwiw, it currently represents my largest position. I agree with your sentiment regarding ariad's management as I had just started accumulating shares when the 4 directors left in Dec. 2008. In hindsight that debacle turned out to be the low and the pps has made steady gains since.

I expect the combination of the anticipated AP534 registration trial and the Ridaforolimus final analysis will be the major upcoming catalysts. I do not anticipate a AP534 partnership until after the registration trial is further along (now that MRK has taken over rida development, imo, ariad has the people and resources and competence to move forward at this time without a partner). Also, the much improved balance sheet from the recent MRK restructuring has removed any short-term financing needs.

As far as other stocks I'm interested in, I like IDIX (check out DewDiligence on the biotech values board ( http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.aspx?board_id=1418 ) and in the medical device space I've posted some dd on WHRT here http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/board.aspx?board_id=7893 . My approach to investing is to try to identify opportunities early and have the patience/discipline not to chase stocks or overpay given the risk.
