Although the chinese have been silent up to this point is that they are looking at stategic partnerships and within the jdz. this , as even stated by the JDA will bring the jdz online and they welcome a potential partner as Total in to the jdz. The jda only granted a 6 month extension, which obviously means they are only willing to wait that long for drilling to begin, they will not continue to wait to release news on the jdz, most people with a brain understand that this is very important to Nigeria and the life blood of SaoTome. .
If they were not going to phase II, we would have heard about this a long time ago, they would have left and the properties would have gone back to the partners in those blocks and the country would have brought in someone with more deep drilling experience such as a Total and it looks as if this has been done, but with the Chinese staying in. if anyone logically looks at the situation, do you honestly think that the chinese bought addax (a huge portion of what they paid was for the jdz) spent 150 million to drill 5 wells and will just walk away, that is stupid beyond belief if anyone thinks that. No one spends billions and walks away, so when people make such statements, it shows just how naive or manipulative they really are.
they are not sitting around asking, should we or shouldn't we, they are looking at where are we going to drill?, what prospects to further prove up what they already know they will find.
