The Gen I pbr was a success by any standards. However the tubes lacked durabilty and the inoculant was contaminated, both problems were easy to overcome. The store bought toy ball "pig" worked just fine with no fountains of water being discharged from the pipettes in the turns.

Gen III? The one piece constant radius injection molded turns should increase efficiencies in flow rate and reduced procurement/installation costs. Seven ply tubing increased the life cycle to where the replacement costs are negligable vs profits on product. Automation of the nutrient and gas feeders should increase the production and reduce or at least optimize the usage of feed stocks. The reverse flow feature though it cost several thousand dollars did alleviate the need to have a ball boy around just to keep the "pig" active. Probably most important, we've hired an algae pro to keep our product pure.

Now for our amusement this week we've had exploding pigs, frog choking floods and don't forget the wandering 350 lb CO2 bottle that had to be restrained.
