Yes it's an interesting question and it was raised before on this board. Someone posted a GOIG linear chart to see how in differed from the logarithmic chart. The rising channel on the logarithmic chart appeared as an expanding horn shape on the linear chart. Remember charts are just a tool and any tool analyzed well can be beneficial. I can't remember the name of the poster but there is a member that is routinely posting a linear chart with analysis.

I personally have only used logarithmic charts as for me, it is perhaps just a comfort thing, and also the service I chart with (stockcharts) does not offer linear charts.

I am sure a linear chart if interpreted well can be just as beneficial; they are separate paradigms in the same reality if you will.
