I've shorted a few times. Even on a very good buddy's company in the past.
Some are way over valued and deserve a good short position. Health South? Sometimes when you are dialed into a stock, you see an overvalue in terms of a run away pps. I see wher it has a place in the market. What I don't like is the 3day to clear trades the MMs, The DTCC and your brokers have to play aginst us. 3 days is an insult for a society that has walked on the moon and put cell phones with internet acess in everyones hands.
What I hate to see is, great news and a stock runs for 3 days and I know MMs are just filling buys without even having the shares in hand. They know it comes back down and they cover those trades on the down side. A trade should clear in a nanosecond. I think the shares should have a paper trail of names who owned it prior to you. Each share! no reason not to now a days. 3 days? Geezes!

When we get FDA approval just be thinking this in the back of your mind as this passes through $2.50 on a few 1000 shares.
Its a force and one of the players.
This is one reason I pray Dean drops news of an outside deal after a day or two after FDA approval.
