Regarding your remark that he has been wrong before and will be wrong again, IMO:

Of course, your statement applies to EVERYONE.

And that's why he's afraid to short term trade nnvc. He's afraid he'll be wrong and trading out of his shares at the precise time the stock price shoots up on blockbuster news.
