It looks like the generic keywords that you tried didn't work so I would say that no one in your area code is signed up for those keywords but they may work in other area codes.
All the branded keywords called you back (except Cisco) which may or may not mean paying customer. I read on here earlier that the company most likely would not be removing non paying customers from the database this early. For now, this would just mean that the word is loaded in the database and we can't tell if it is actually sold yet. A good indicator of the sale would be if you find the keyword being advertised on the branded company's website.
