I'm with ya' there MrFence....

Don't think these 'major' issues will change much until all the creeps that are trying to bring us down [Wall Street bankers , BP etc etc] are 'locked-up' for lenghty stays in our Federal penal system.

On the same subject; Don't know if you've seen them but there's an impressive series of TV commercials by a combat veterans group , promoting alternative fuels & energy independence , as a matter of national security. These guys will be hard for the do-nothing Washington crowd to ignore. These guys paid-the-price to have a voice in what's going on.
