So what you're saying is that the MRT has tied up a sizable amount of promising land for two years on a company who couldn't show a likelihood to be able to finance drilling for oil? I find that hard to believe.
The Tassie government wants money and they didn't owe anything to EEGC. They were under no obligation to grant EEGC the new license.
The land could have been given to any company with money to drill, but somehow it was given to EEGC. Tassie is not in the business of granting licenses just because they feel sorry for a company, they want results and make decisions based on that. The granting of the license shows that at least some results were achieved in the previous license and that some more results are likely in granting the new license to the same company.
That is a significant fact that is only irrelevant to those who want to make it irrelevant.
