Jim, You are 100% correct. I ran a Reorg dept for 10 years for a major brokerage firm and they would be the only ones who would have an answer relative to a corporate action, stock split or reverse, name change, merger etc. So anyone who calls their broker should ask for the reorg dept to get the proper answers.
Brokers do not know what is going on the back office.
