YOU are right, most of the countries joining the EU would like to unwind this terrible deed.
Alone the costs of the staff in Brussels could help/fund another country, plain bureaucratic BS.

I surely hope this doesn't get hold in the US, but from what I'm hearing and reading with the current administration more than likely.
