Investing what one can afford to lose doesn’t include investing in a stock that turns out to be a scam.

Investing what one can afford to lose holds true only on stocks that are honest and doing all the right things necessary to run their business with transparency. Investing what one can afford to lose becomes null on scams. Because NO ONE would invest in a stock they knew was a scam. so something had to be said from the stock to get one's attention enough to invest in them. If I invest, I'm taking a gamble that their plan would be a success with understanding that their plan could fail. But this doesn’t hold fair if the company was lying through their teethes and hag NO PLANS of carrying out what they said.

It's just not the same.
