RE: thought "ignore" worked rather well on SI. Now if I can just get it to work here I can add the offending party to my list and be done with it.
I think it didn´t work at all. Look how the thread developed. Many were offenders and contributors at the same time. You can ignore them (and miss out on the info), but others won´t, and all of a sudden, the thread becomes a huge insult fest, what do you do, ignore them all? And, from what I´ve seen, you didn´t ignore the offenders, but rather took part in the "celebration" that finally made me not visit the thread anymore, as there was nothing of value posted anymore. See, places like Ace´s Hardware don´t need no moderation, no ignore features, as people are interested in technology, not flaming, which makes it a great place for information. This should be possible here as well. I think we´re all old and hopefully reasonable enough to make that happen.
