And anyways, no variety of short shows up on SHO when it is done ex-clearing



Ex-clearing is only done when the seller contracts to guarantee delivery.

Otherwise, I could bankrupt a big online broker by sticking them with a huge short.

That's how LoCastro and John Edwards were tagged and bagged on their ex-clearing sales for PCBM and CMKX respectively.
