You should have a headset with a mic to use vent.

download the client
http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php

configure you login (ihub username)
configure server - vent8.gameservers.com port 4415

connect to server

click setup on the right side, and set a push to talk key, click ok.
come into the room I'm in and test sound.
