Interesting merger I found.

The operators of an electronic network for health care discounts and an Amherst-based urgent care and emergency medicine company are uniting in a collaboration that both sides say will lead to a merger.

The partnership between Health Transaction Network and Professional Emergency Services PLLC, operator of the MedFirst clinic, is designed to create a new type of health care model that provides emergency care more quickly and at a lower cost than typically available, executives said.

“It really creates a unique new entity that we are confident doesn’t exist anywhere else in the country,” said Joseph E. Wolfson, CEO of Health Transaction Network. “We think there’s a way to do new facilities where you can make it more efficient and take a lot of the costs out.”
