Shame on any of us if we think all of any one people are bad. I'm sure that isn't the case.

We know not all Americans are not good, or all the people who profess to be Christians, Jews, etc.
Our moms and dads from our youth have taught us there is good and bad people within every creed, color and religion. I have plenty of my own shortcomings. Its left up to the rest of us to try and live a life that will help us to discern between the two.

The Native Americans didn't need the Puritans to acknowledge God. Think of the way the Europeans displayed their Christian faith? To a people who lived in this pristine land for thousands of years, and acknowledged it as a gift from the heavens, and took care of it and its wildlife. It was still a pristine continent having lived here all that time.

We look back from today and 500 years into the past, and look at it today, and its people. It would be a far stretch to say this was Gods intentions. What the Spaniards did, what the Europeans did, was take what wasn't theirs. This land was founded on genocide, and was taken as if it wasn't inhabited, and called their own. This is this countries dark past.

We have never risen up out of this, not really. This nation did answer a righteous call though when it rose up against Germany and Japan. It acknowledged the face of evil, and slew it. The unbridled sacrifices of those who went to face it deserves our honor. The country rose out of the depression and the war because we had some real leadership, something we have lost since in government as in many respects as a people. We cannot ever really move forward until the wounds here at home are healed, but as a nation we have so much lost our way not staying focused more on things here at home as opposed to abroad, think about it, it was from there where the people came from, and by all accounts wanted to escape from. Look where its been over the last 45+ years?
