One thing that should be verifiable is the part about the 18 hotels closing down in the area. I have heard nothing but great things about the Dominican Republic as far as an up and coming destination source. If that right there can be proven wrong, then that makes that whole letter an absolute scam. And if that many hotels really have closed down, then there might be some truth to the letter. But again, I have read lots of stuff about the Dominican Republic is doing well...
Anybody know for sure if the hotels or the island itself is suffering?
