Sagedono, I have not had a good chance to look into C-THERM much yet, but I believe that product plays an important part in keeping the Methane Hydrate crystals from forming in these ultra deep wells.

Those crystals are what plagued the first cap attempt at the leaking Horizon well. Without insulation and heat, they can clog all sorts of operating parts and pipes in other wells.
