Argentina is no "developing country" It was the world's 6th largest economy at one stage. Rules over mining are governed by each state: Patagonia being a terrible place to mine due to environmental issues (Patagonia is one of the world's most wonderful natural places left); and Jujuy being the most mining-friendly state in all of South America since nothing their BUT gold and copper mines. Up at 3000m very little wildlife and no industry but mining. No chance of nationalization of mines due to conservative pro-business federal government.
