TDGI: Preliminary drafting of a bill is being coordinated with legislative staffers representing two Democratic Senators and two Republican Senators, reflecting the non-partisan nature of the action. A target date of mid-June has been set for the official presentation of the bill and the announcement of the principal Senators supporting the measure.

When that bill is officially announced everyone will care. CNBC will run stories about it, NY Times will write editorials about it. This is a very big hot button subject.

It comes down to Protectionism and China artificially keeping their currency too low. This in turn produces a huge trade deficit for our Country and is part of how we find ourselves in this mess as a Nation.

On the flip side protectionism is looked on historically as one of the factors that made the Great Depression worse and last longer.

Everyone will have to buy and read a copy of Barr's book who engages in this debate. Every Senator, Congressman, journalist who covers this story. In all likelihood Obama will be reading a copy of the book as well.

This is a story with legs that Eric is crafting and could alter how we do things as a Nation.
