Follow-up to my prior post on Lackland AFB RFQ

Looks like there were some interesting questions asked back on May 5th. Click on the Q & A at page right under All Files (may need OpenOffice to view docx file):

The only gotcha I'm seeing is the pressure requirement. Note, I believe the original specs were written to Mark-Costello. The responses suggest the Contracting Officer isn't interested in sole source. BTW...CO's hate finding that specs are written Sole Source and blind-sided in that manner. Trust Me on that observation from my years writing solicitations and/or responding with proposals. Don't know if MedClean asked any of the questions (yes, they know about the RFQ), but many do apply.

Question 1: Can either a Vacuum Displacement configuration Autoclave or a Gravity Autoclave be provided?

Answer: Either will work for our application

Question 2: Item 0005 - Touch Screen PLC Digital Controller, is a touch screen required?

Answer: Not required, can be any type control panel

Question 3: Please confirm that the better Vacuum Displacement autoclave with Steam Condenser would be acceptable in place of a mist odor system?

Answer: Acceptable

Question 4: Can Pressure grade carbon steel autoclave be provided with heavy duty aluminum cards? Please confirm that this acceptable for this bid?

Answer: Indifferent, only concerned that unit can be placed/operate in the south Texas environment

Question 5: Please confirm that 95 psig steam can be provided to the autoclave system?

Answer: Negative, would like system to work with existing pressure. If a higher pressure is required, the steam lines/fittings would need replaced.


Question 6: Please confirm that the cart moving system is autoclave carts on wheels that can be pushed by personnel from the autoclave to compactor?

Answer: Acceptable

Question 7: Is it of value to the AFB if we can deliver and install this new autoclave within less than 60 Days?

Answer: Acceptable if provided at no additional cost
