Jhalada:

Lets put this in terms of a real user. Not theoretical BS.

I and millions like me made the choice to stick with 32 bits(Pentium 4 3ghz purchased 2003).

Exactly how is this going to hurt me?

There are some enterprise programs that nicely benefit from 64 bits but most of those use over 4GBs. Mine is a desktop machine.

There a few niche 64 bit video editing programs and one panoramic splice program that benefits. Sooo what.

AMD ZONE found that you got a few more sticks and rocks with one of the 64 bit games that looked very boring to me but no performance increases. I can play unreal tournament 2004 just fine with a 3ghz pentium 4 and a radeon 9800 if I want to.

Some have claimed that you get a 15% performance boost in 64 bit windows. YAWN...and that will not be the norm I suspect. Probably the same performance with slight increases in some areas. But if we are going to make exceptions for instances like these then doesn't hyperthreading also come in to play? AMD isn't competetive in multitasking scenarios currently.

SO what exactly is such a big deal???? What exactly is going to make me sooo unhappy that I can't do 64 bits???
