You're right of course, Chewie. The "paid basher" theory is beyond laughable.
This behavior is fairly easily explained, though. Sometimes one get so wrapped up in an endeavor that objectivity flies out the window. Finding a scapegoat to blame is so much easier than reviewing why one is in the jam to begin with. Psych 101 or so. Once Qtrax is dead and gone, which probably isn't too far out in the future, there will likely still be folks who blame posters in here rather than taking honest stock of how taken advantage and bamboozled they were.
To think Apple worries about the existence of BLLN is absurd. And if they did, they'd certainly lose no sleep as it is obvious those in charge are doing a fine job of wrecking the whole thing. The Usenet and peer to peer mechanisms of illegal sharing is where the volume and competition is. Amazon is competition. Not this flailing model and certainly not with the history of those involved.
So anyway, care to speculate on the next carrot?
