A note from my broker on shorting blocks.

I had asked my broker to prevent any of my shares from being shorted in my IRA account. Here is the reply I got back in regards to that.

Since your account is a cash account, your shares cannot be borrowed to be shorted. You do not need to request this. Only shares held as marginable in a margin account will be available to be borrowed and shorted.
