Yes, setting a a sell order does prevent your shares from being borrowed in a margin account, for 30 days, then your order will auto cancel. You can set a sell order with your brooker to last longer. The trade cost more when when it is filled. But the advantage is after everyone else's orders auto cancels in 30 days your order will be filled first, if you don't mark all or nothing. edit: providing if it reaches your asking price.
