A reverse split is different to a reverse merger, which is where I think the confusion might lie.

A reverse merger is where a trading company with assets (eg KATX) "reverse merges" into a non trading company without assets but which has current and up to date filings and so is "ready to go" on an exchange or listing (in our case OTC).
