It's kind of tough to run a show in syndication when it has a conclusion. No more questions and why would you watch the show?
I don't know that it was one of the best, but it definitely cleared the way towards an ending. I think I know what the last scene will be, and I doubt you're going to be happy with it.
I don't see it as sad because you know there are going to have to be deaths. As was Highlander, there can be only one!
