Anecdotally, it does make a difference as my E-Trade orders would not get filled while my Ameritrade orders would. If you have multiple trading accounts, do some simultaneous trades, you might find there's a difference.

PS...Think I'll give Zecco a try as they don't make you wait 3 days for pinkies to clear.
