Something all of these other devices seem to have in common is they are all based around a traditional imaging platform and their real-time characteristics are optimistic at best.

By the time you take into account the following Dominion characteristics:
Real "real time"
110v power
Portability
Low purchase price vs. other machines (as has been stated on this board and I3 website)
Use of COTS componnents

I believe you have what would be called a "best-of-breed" solution IF it doesn't inspire a new market all by itself.

Laptops offer very little in the way of earth-shattering innovation at a componnent level, but it's the whole package that makes/made them what they are today. I think we'd all agree the laptop computer was a game changer.
