To answer your question, none of us would have any idea about the effectiveness of this filter. However, what I will say is that there have been many great inventions that took a while before they became accepted in society.
Here are a few:
The airplane
- Did you know that Col Billy Mitchell was actually court martialed (convicted by the military justice system) because he fought against the senior military leaders who refused to accept the airplane as an effective war machine? He was forced to retire because he was considered insubordinate. Now he is considered one of the founding fathers of the Air Force.
The zipper
- Originally called "the latchet and unlatchet for shoes". Only once it was renamed years later and patented as the zipper was it a profitable invention. Now we can't live without it.
The phonograph
- People thought it was a sin to record voices on a machine.
Fuel injection
- Tucker invented fuel injection for cars back in the 40's or 50's I believe. The big car manufacturers bought his patent and shelved it for whatever greedy reason they had. His car was far superior to any of theirs at the time. If you can find a Tucker Talisman these days, you would be a lucky person.
What I'm saying is that it will take the right timing and marketing skills for any invention to really make a dent in society. This is a risky investment any way you look at it. This filter could be better than they're saying, but maybe MO runs wellstone out of business because of the potential of the company to be bigger than MO someday. That's what happened to Tucker.
Personally, I'm betting that this filter will be accepted with open arms because it is coming along at the right time. People know smoking is bad but they just can't stop. Tobacco companies are trying to cover their butts from lawsuits.
If people accept this filter as not only effective, but necessary to their lifestyles, we're talking about a household name product in every smoking home around the world.
What we have is an exclusive foothold on this market because of the patents and the only one in existence that I'm aware of.
I think this one is a winner and is worth waiting a few years for.
Here's the other thing. Even if the filter is garbage and ineffective, they will STILL sell cigarettes and make a profit! Have you heard of any cigarette manufacturer that is not profitable?
We're looking good here in my opinion.
But, this is just how I view this. I could be 100% wrong and this stock could be worthless in the future. I'm willing to take the chance on wellstone though.
Happy new year.
