I think it's that "enormous opportunity" that forced his hand on proving the software in a pilot. The big dog is gonna want to see indisputable proof that it works before they try it in even one location. If you want to get your foot in the door at these huge corporations, you have to have your ducks in a row, and come off as professional, as opposed to a Mickey Mouse operation flying by the seat of their pants...I'm sure this was clearly communicated to Roger Williams at the outset.
