For the few, even the likes of Goldman who strategically attributed their contributions to the cause of The Great Depression, and came out of it richer, bigger, and stronger,

and probably will again unless the firm now believes its played its last big hand, and comes out of this SEC Investigation unscathed having been charged with fraud. If history teaches us anything in the past they've been fined, and forced to give a little song an dance, and then were back at it again. They may have gotten a little singed from their unscrupulous behaviour from the sub committee for dealing from a stacked deck, but more often than not this has been it. The top execs were ridiculed for them playing card games in their secret back room where GS created these synthetic derivatives, and showed their cards to one another including John Paulson, who in turn showed his.

After hours of smoking an drinking in (la la land), the intoxication led then to do it. No one seems to remember that those sitting on the other side, because they weren't invited, chair form only, they were dealt hands but were being shorted cards, they had no idea what the others were holding, because they weren't really playing.

Some of the money they were playing with they pulled from the till which belonged to people who weren't invited to the game, but their money was used to leverage the other side of these bets, and knew nothing about this secret back room, or the kind of fixed, rigged game that was being played, but none the same were prominent stake holders whose investments were being shorted away.

Like this is something new!. The Congress allowed deregulation to persist for decades, this can be traced back to the S&L's, and all this has grown out from than that, just like the 87 crash, just like the dot coms., the cancer we've been witness to is malignant. The Offshore Hedge Funds control half of the market here and in London, and these 6 large Banks now control 63% of our economy (GDP).

This may not be England, and we may not have a King, or Queen with total absolute power, but we are getting there. Tobacco was once used as currency, now its a form of taxation, or drink, because its so sinful, like those in our State legislative body or in the US Congress have the kind of morals we are suppose to live by, because why, because they do neither? Right!. Those that do the ones we hear about from being stopped DWI coming back from some wild party can easily afford to pay for their sins, without creating a record, just depends who they know?.

Oil is the new currency.

Who benefited the most from war back then, even now for that matter, whose armies died for their sake, and gained them untold wealth, kinda like whats going on today, and if not this it came off backs of its common people from uncontrolled taxation, kinda like now.......................England may have lost alot of its sovereignty abroad, and power but they still have this government to build on, and its been unfolding under our very eyes. Different costumes, different players is all.

Viva La France! :).............
Nah! couldn't wrap my arms around them either, considering their history.
