Does anyone think the role of a MM will change as a result of the Goldman hearings? Specifically the MMs who short stocks in the pink world would have to disclose whether they are short to potential and existing company shareholders? Will it affect the tendency of investors in pink stocks to buy / speculate on these stocks. For time and memorium MMs probably have not divulged their positions assuming an investor can make an informed investment decision having read the prospectus. In the new world of derivatives and the ability of companies to hide liabilities in off balance sheet vehicles (SIVs)thus not completely disclosing all risks in the prospectus MMs should disclose their positions and why...since all risks are not in the prospectus.
