There seems to be a misperception about the Hydra Fuel Cell, the HydraStax(R) 5000. It is a hydrogen fuel cell which produces electricity when fed hydrogen and oxygen.

Ammonia is a very efficient carrier of hydrogen (NH3) but the ammonia delivery infrastructure in the US is an industrial/agricultural delivery system.

Since Hydra's market is residential grid replacement it makes perfect sense to use natural gas as the carrier of hydrogen (CH4) since natural gas infrastructure delivers gas to nearly 70% of America's homes.

The fuel cell will run as long as it receives a steady feed of hydrogen (H2) regardless of the source of the hydrogen whether it comes from ammonia, natural gas, water, ethanol or methanol.
