Did anyone contact a professor at MIT?

There is now way for anyone except for the transfer agent to know how many shares it would take participate in the rights offering.

There may a few physical share certificates in existence, but the vast majority of shares would be held in street name at Cede & Co., a nominee of Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. Thus, the number of shareholders detailed in any filing always understates the number of true stockholders.
