Well, I think I have done a wonderful job at staying positive today, but, your post has inspired me to speak on what I beleive to be the reality of Wimax and LTE.

The following is all imo

You are correct, the battle between WiMax and LTE is currently underway. The big boys, AT&T and Verizon have clearly stated they will be going with LTE. A number of the "smaller" players are going with WiMax, I think Sprint and T-Mobile (correct me if im wrong).

As stated by industry analysts, WiMax can win this battle IF and only IF they deploy a significant ammount of infastructure in 2010. The reason why 2010 is such a crucial year is because LTE will be ready and fully deployable in 2010. So essentially, its a race. WiMax CAN NOT "beat" LTE, but, what it can do is be a foridable rival and the two technologies can share the market. In order for that to happen though, WiMax has to take significant steps this year.

MDGC, if I am not mistaken, again, correct me if I am, has in their favor the fact that their technology can be CONVERTED to LTE if the need should ever arise. LTE will control most of the market, but, just like Blackberry controls the majority of the smartphone market, you can't ignore the iPhone and I PERSONALLY see WiMax as the iPhone in my example, they don't control the majority of the market, but, only a fool would ignore their share of the market.
