An experienced technologist, businessman, researcher, and serial entrepreneur, Dr. James B. Morris has achieved considerable success over a 23-year period in founding and leading high technology companies in the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry. In 1984 Morris founded and grew Logic Automation (Beaverton, OR) into a thriving business that was sold for $120M in 1994 to Synopsys, Inc..
Dr. Morris subsequently co-founded Prototype Solutions and Simutech, LLC, both of which researched and developed high performance, rapid prototyping technology for System on a Chip design. The results of these efforts are core to several successful commercial products on the market today.
Dr. Morris developed the original FIRMS software after noticing the lack of availability of an easily-deployable, integrated, hospitality business management system.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Morris was a staff engineer with Intel Corporation, an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Purdue University, and a staff scientist at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Dr. Morris holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and a BS in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Texas at Austin.
