GM Ctay and Den, IMO, the problem with education is that it is not especially valued in the US, although it is paid much lip service. In China and India and other countries, especially in Asia, it is more valued and much more highly respected. When you see the scholar in the US viewed as a person of respect rather than a nerd, and intellectuals respected more than athletes and entertainers, then there is more hope. I don't see such a trend yet.
