Interesting info on China and PET

The opportunity in China is immense. There are approximately 100 PET/CT scanners in use today in China serving a population base of over 1.3 billion. Most are in major population centers such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. In addition, there are over 70 “target” cities serving populations ranging from 1 million to 15 million each, totaling about 630 million, which is over one-third of the population of China. Given the internationally recognized figure of one scanner for each 500,000 people or less, there is an enormous potential.
