As a new investor to the world of bankrupt and distressed companies, I am trying to come up with a process by which I can quickly scan a company and determine whether additional reading and research is necessary.
Being a value investor, I have a list of things I would normally look for with a "typical" company prior to proceeding with additional research or tossing it out.
With Q companies, how does one go about researching?
Do you just have to start reading the dockets filed from day 1? Does such a process exist or am I being too naive and going about it the wrong way?
I've managed to gather a list of Q companies and I know that most of them are garbage, but I am trying to figure out how I can quickly analyse it.
