Good question sub756 ,

Just be aware that if you do (or did) sell shares today and the F/S shares aren't dispersed to you by the 3 day settlement, you may be liable for the cost to cover. You are basically doing a short with no firm dispersal date.

For example: After the split you were entitled to 1 million shares. You had Schwab put in a sell order for .01 and they all sold (or used AON option) today. Friday would be the settlement date, the date at which the buyer has control of the shares. If the shares haven't been dispersed by that day, you would forfeit the proceeds of the sale and probably some other broker fees. So, just be careful of selling what you don't have yet and don't know for sure when you will have them.

Some brokers will allow you to do this(they are loaning you shares without a firm issue date, very risky), others may not. Scottrade is pretty conservative about such a trade and are very reluctant to process the request.

Still, it was an awesome day. I hope longs didn't sell today. Some huge news coming and it isn't about the GO-V-Phone.
