I agree, i only wanted to point out that they "potentially" could open x # of short positions and close y # of short positions and those we be added together (x+y) to equate to the total short volume for the day and reported on FINRA.

That doesn't mean x isn't much greater than y in any given day!!! What allows us to know that x>y is by the # of shares we own as a team and that we continue to accumulate each day. They can't be closing every short position they own, only a certain %, and their open short positions continue to grow. They just decide the rate at which they will allow it to grow.
