Now that's what I'm talking about tikasun, the world is coming closer togeather in the atmosphere of the united global economy and at the same time it seems that big industry has forsaken U.S. workers in favor of foreign proffits. It will take a long time if ever there will be a true ballance of wealth but in the mean time there needs to be open discussion about it and in this article the thought appears to be in the direction of building much needed jobs in the U.S. while we have the opportunity for the American people by the American officials elected to do just that.

There are two primary problems for Americans with respect to globalization.

1. There are a lot of talented people in the world who are willing to produce goods and services for less wages than Americans want to be paid. And, this is directly related to the fact that they have less consumption options and less regulations to comply with (environment, permits, drinking water, etc.)

2. Energy consumption. China and India are consuming more energy resources than ever before and the growth rate of their consumption is increasing. This makes the cost of energy for everyone else higher than it was before. And, energy is a fundamental cost driver for almost any economic activity.

Conclusion - it's going to be more expensive for developed nations and America in particular to maintain whatever standard of living you are currently maintaining and it's going to get harder and harder to find low/no skill level jobs.

My hope is that we might be able to "tech" our way out of this predicament. If we can make this algae thing work, it will help with problem 2.

Give us this day our daily bread... and lead us not into temptation (ie don't be a greedy fool)...
