The treatment I had w/steroids worked super for knees. The inflammation was minor, little swelling, and was back on my feet almost immediatly. From time to time stiffness would reoccur during cold or stormy weather...nothing severe tho'.
It was the 3rd surgury. (But a new doctor.)

On the application of 'roids, along with a mix of local anestetic, injected into the neck vertabrae, the relief was immediate, but only lasted a week....second attempt same results.
.....BUT, my wallet was $2600.00 lighter for each procedure.
I hope your case will be one of lasting relief....Stay positive!
