I pay about $450 a year for a metro newspaper subscription while I get most of my news from the web. I also spend $200+ per year for other paper products for reading. If I cancel or seriously reduce those types of costs I easily pay for an iPad in a year or two.

I reduce clutter in the house and I organize what I want to save electronically.

That's just the beginning . . .
