The way my broker explained it is if you own on the record date you get shares. Anyone who doesn't won't. I am use to doing divy trades which the ex-date is always 2 days before the record date and I know I have to buy the day before the ex-date to get the divy. Never had a ex-date after the record date. So this is new to me. How they handle the ex-date after I don't know. I just know you have to buy 3 days before the record date to own it on the record date.
