A week ago or so I posted regarding the loss of about 1600 jobs in the Cincinnati area. Today, Supervalu announced that they are selling 6 of their bigg's locations here and closing the other 5. No job loss numbers were reported, but they presently employ 1300 at the 11 stores. Do the math.
Also, the longest running home show in the country, Cincinnati Homearama, announced that they will not be having the show this year (the first time in 49 years). Reason - inability of the builders to get financing. Why? The appraisals are coming in at less than the construction costs.
The recovery is in high gear here in Cincy.
I think there are two demographic regions which live outside the real world - inside the Washington Beltway and Wall Street.
