Whoever can develop a system that uses fewer parts, has longer battery life, has field upgradeable firmware, has the infrastructure, contacts will lead the field. Others can run the codecs of the day but what about future codecs.

Its not time to roll over and give up just because there are other players. Remember way back when it was said that the first products would not necessarly be the best ( or words to that effect).

Bloatware does not need MicroOs but fast streaming video and audio does. If a device runs it all MicroOs will have its place.

MicroOs handles data flow from memory to DSP's, it does not manipulate programs.

Second and third generation products will need speed. That is the advantage of MicroOs.
