I have to admit growing concern over whether we really have the goods. The big plus is the fact that a couple of good people gave up good positions to join NVEI. The presence of Greaves and Cooper comforts me greatly. They aren’t dummies and they wouldn’t have put their futures at risk if there weren’t something here.
But, the absence of leaks is disconcerting. If the Fairpoint tests were positive it would have leaked. Talks to all the telcos and suppliers would have produced some speculators. It’s hard to believe that something this good could be kept a secret for so long if it were really that good.
I’ve been nibbling here and nibbling there, picking up a few “cheap” shares with my lunch money, but I think I’ll stop. The mere presence of Greaves and Cooper isn’t quite comforting enough. I'd feel a lot better if they, or anyone on the inside, would buy some stock with their own money. That show of confidence would comfort me greatly.
It’s time for our leaders to lead by example. Show us that we’ve got the goods and I’ll wait, perhaps not patiently, but I’ll stop grumbling . . . and I’ll keep buying.
